Meet our Artistic Director Dr. Laureen Pickle!

A native of Texas, Laureen is delighted to return for another season as the Artistic Director of MasterSingers. 

She holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees in music and is an active local performer, stage director, and music director. As a performer, Laureen has appeared with Opera Omaha, Heartland Opera, and the Omaha Symphony, Omaha Community Playhouse, Bellevue Little Theater, Chanticleer Theater, Little Apple Productions, Shelterbelt Theater, and SNAP! Productions. As a music and stage director, she has been active with Bellevue Little Theater, Chanticleer Theater, Little Apple Productions, Shelterbelt Theater, SNAP! Productions, and Blue Barn Theater.  Laureen has been a private voice instructor for over 20 years.

In her spare time (?), Laureen is enjoys arranging copious amounts of music for MasterSingers, gardening, and DIY projects around her house.


Meet Our Accompanist Victory Sedlacek!

A native of Omaha, Victory Sedlacek accompanies in all areas from ballet to voice to children’s choirs.  Ms. Sedlacek was music director at Princeton Ballet for eight years, taught at Westminster Conservatory and toured extensively with the Princeton Girlchoir.  She is the former staff accompanist for the Burke High School Music Department in Omaha.

 Ms. Sedlacek is in high demand as a performance accompanist and regularly free-lances as a coach/accompanist  in the Omaha area.

Ms. Sedlacek holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Master of Music degree in Accompanying/Coaching from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.  She is the long-time accompanist for both Voices of Omaha, and MasterSingers Omaha!

Meet our Assistant Artistic Director, Kate Simmons!

Representing southwest Iowa is our  newest employee, Kate Simmons. Our Assistant Artistic Director is a longtime member of the MasterSingers family & former MasterSingers Omaha Board President.

She holds an Associate of Science degree from Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri as well as Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Voice & Theater Performance from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. A busy area performer she has appeared on many local stages over the last two decades including the Omaha Community Playhouse, Chanticleer Theater, & Bellevue Little Theater.

With a background in public relations she is the current Director of the Logan Public Library in Logan, Iowa & is also a member of the client services team at the CREW Center in Woodbine, Iowa. 

Kate wears many hats in our organization, assisting with graphic design, fundraising, music selection, policy creation, & anything else that seems to be needed.
