August, 2017 The MasterSingers join the family, friends, and community who are mourning the loss of Jim Elsberry. Jim was the artistic director of the MasterSingers for 35 years. We are keenly aware of his legacy to the artistic community and are humbled by the gift of his time and talents to the MasterSingers. His compositions and arrangements are beautiful expressions of the soul with finely-tuned harmonies. The “Elsberry style” is recognizable to audiences everywhere. We who were fortunate to sing with Jim gained life-long benefits from his wisdom and his insight into the effect of music on the human Spirit. It was a privilege and an adventure to share the experience with him. He continues to live on our voices as we strive to sing with our hearts |
