Singer Safety & PPE Requirements:
This is probably the biggest question on everyone's mind as we discuss a return to rehearsal & the board has outlined the following safety protocols which must be followed by every singer for safe participation.
1. Face masks must be worn at all times during rehearsal, singers must provide their own masks (disposable ones will be available if you forget)
2. Face shields must be worn while singing, a reusable, plastic face shield will be provided to all singers by MasterSingers Omaha
3. Snack breaks may only be taken outside if weather allows & will include only pre-packaged snacks
4. A singer seating chart will be provided allowing for proper spacing, singers will be asked to observe the seating chart & maintain recommended distancing
5. Singers must wash hands or make use of provided sanitizer & have their temperature checked upon arrival at the church
6. Singers must sign a participation waiver prior to their first rehearsal
7. Singers must self monitor their health & not come to rehearsal if they are feverish or ill
8. Singers must refrain from attending rehearsal if they experience a possible exposure outside of rehearsal
9. While vaccination is highly recommended we recognize that there are many reasons why a member may not be vaccinated. We do request vaccinated members submit confirmation of their vaccination, with personally identifying information removed, to assist in setting our singer seating chart.
Regarding COVID-19 exposure - should a MasterSinger become exposed to COVID-19 during the rehearsal period we require that the singer notify the MasterSingers Board President immediately so risk to other singers may be assessed. Singer privacy will of the utmost importance & will be protected by the Board President.
While we recognize many of our members have been vaccinated or will be shortly & that CDC recommendations for vaccinated persons have changed & will continue to change, we have opted to err on the side of caution by maintaining the above safety requirements. We feel that this is the best course of action to protect all of our members. Member safety is our primary concern. Please be patient as we navigate the situation & know that all guidelines are subject to change.
